1. Does the V Phone work with my VoIP provider?
The V Phone will work with any VoIP Provider suporting the SIP
protocol.
2. Will the V Phone work in a country where VoIP is blocked?
If you have the sip client for iPhone, Android or Windows
Mobile, you can use the built in VPN client in conjunction with
the V Phone app.
3. The app cannot register with my VoIP provider.
Please ensure you have typed in the correct sip server address,
username and password that your provider has given you.
Here is an example of how to
setup VoIP using VoipBuster:
1. Select Settings
2. In the Configure VoiP section, Select Account 1
3. If your Provider is listed in the wheel, select it otherwise
select Custom
4. Enter in the Profile or Service Name as Voipbuster
5. Enter in the SIP URL as sip.voipbuster.com
6. Enter in the Username as XXXXXXX
7. Enter in the Password as XXXXXX
8. Select Save and in the dial screen it should show a green
light if you put in the correct details
3a. I still can't register
If you are using Vonage make sure you have a Vonage Mobile
account, Vonage has 2 different products/services for their
customers. Vonage Home based Voip services account cannot be
used with Vonage Mobile voip services. This is not a problem
with the app, it is the way Vonage has configured their system
to disallow their users to utilise their Vonage accounts with
Vonage Mobile.
If all else fails and you still cannot register the app with
your provider, please send us an email and we will try to help
you.
3b. I have no sound or i have 1 way sound
If you are using the iPhone app, try turning OFF NAT and VAD. Go
to Settings > Voip Settings > turn off VAD and turn off NAT
close the app and re-open it then try making a test call.
If you still can't get 2 way sound, try turning NAT ON then
close the app and re-open it then make a test call.
4. I dialed a phone number but the receiving party's phone is
not ringing.
Please make sure you have followed your voip provider's dialing
plan. Some provider's specify you follow a dial plan such as
dial 00 before a phone number, others require you to dial a full
international dialing sequence eg 001 followed by country code
followed by area code followed by phone number. For more
information on what dial plan you should use, please contact
your voip provider.
Please also ensure you have sufficient credits in your account
with your voip provider to make successful voip calls.
5. How do I setup the SMS function?
If you have an account with Pennytel or Clickatell, these are
already pre-configured. Select SMS Account [1] or [2] then
select the Pennytel or Clickatell button and fill in your
username and password and your HTTP API_ID (Clickatell only). If
you don't have a Pennytel or Clickatell Account, you could
possibly use the Custom SMS button. In order to use this, you
will need to confirm whether your provider has SMS
functionalities using the http method. 1 way to confirm this is
to check on their website and confirm if they have an SMS
sending facility using the web browser. If they do, then you can
search their web site for the SMS http API or strings to use.
